Hope begins here
Our Opshops are treasure troves filled with incredibly good donated items, and a lot of new items. Everything you can imagine from sports gear to scarves, Fair Trade items to fishing rods, household goods to hair accessories, books to baskets, furniture and furnishings, clothing and curtains—plus loads of gift ideas!
Our first Opshop was launched in Invercagill at the time of the 2005 Tsunami and has been funding needs ever since. Since then we have grown our network to include many locations around New Zealand. We also often hold successful pop-up shops in different locations.
The purpose of our Opshops is:
- To provide excellent quality goods at affordable prices.
- To fundraise and provide resources for our projects both overseas and in NZ.
The shops are run almost totally by Volunteers. We are very thankful to the dedication and hard work of our Volunteers who make this possible. We’d love you to visit our shops, come in and help support the cause. You’ll definitely find some bargains, and hopefully become a regular! You’ll also find a selection of new ethical items perfect for gifts (or as a treat for yourself) that we have sourced from our project areas.
Can you donate quality pre-loved goods?
We’re always looking for clean quality items to sell at our shops. We’ll accept almost anything as a donation to helping children in need. If you know businesses or individuals needing to get rid of quality items please don’t forget to mention Orphans Aid Opshops. A huge thanks to individuals, businesses and groups that have supported in this way.
